Jiaa Manek (born on 18 February) is a female actor on Indian television. Manek plays the lead role in Star Plus's serial Saathiya.[1]

Early life

Manek was born in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and brought up in Thane, Maharashtra. She was born to a Gujarati family. She graduated in advertising (mass media).[2]

Career

Manek started giving auditions in her college days.[2] She did commercials for Amul and Vatika hair oil.[3] She had a small role in Na Ghar Ke Na Ghaat Ke before her TV debut. She first auditioned for Rehna Hai Teri Palkon Ki Chaon Mein but was not selected for the role. Her second audition was for Saathiya, which she won.[2] She was offered a role in the film Bodyguard, but had to refuse due to timing constraints.[4]

Awards

The character played by her in Saathiya, Gopi, won the Favourite Bahen (Sister) award in the 2011 STAR Parivaar Awards as well as she won Favorite Naya Sadasyaa.[5]
